Hello,

I have no idea who is going to see this journal but I am really concerned, today I spent my usual hour and an half uploading my latest pic into more than an hundred groups and I just noticed that I just got 39 views and 38 favs (almost all of them are from my watchers)

Did anyone just leave because of #eclipse or simply nobody sees groups notifications anymore and I wasted my time?

it's a Friday too, it usually was my busiest day of the week in terms of visits...

What we can do:

We specialized in animals of all kinds, but we can also do human characters, feral/furry characters and more!

For charms, only wood colors and their shades are availlable, plus gray and white.

For boxes and larger projects, only wood colors are availlable plus green, blue and white.

For the charms, each piece must be in the same color of wood (cannot make gray + cherrywood for one animal, for example).
This limitation doesn't apply for boxes.

It is implyed that you need to add the shipping cost on top of the item price, depending on where do you live shippings are:

2,80€/340 :points: for Italy
3,50€/450 :points: for Europe
5,50€/700 :points: for New Zealand and Australia
4,50€/600 :points: for everywhere else

This is the fastest and cheapest option availlable, but the tracking doesn't work in some countries.

Is it possible to upgrade the shipping to a slower one but with tracking guaranteed.
Shipping times vary for each country, and for non Eu-union states the customs might hold your package for a while before releasing it.
For this reason only we encourage people to buy their gifts more than a month earlier, expecially during shopping season!

And last, these are the wood finishes currently availlable:

Since many people showed interest in kowing our behind the scenes, here's a little explanation on how we do our stuff! This can be seen as a sort of introduction on how to create something with the power of a laser instead of a step-by-step tutorial. We don't feel qualified enough for that!

The machine we use is a gas laser (the expensive kind) and not a desktop engraver which cannot cut wood. But before speaking about that, there are several steps we follow:

First of all, the idea. After thinking about what we should make, we starts of with a pencil sketch. We already try to make something on paper of about the same size as the final product, so we can understand the dimensions of each detail and if it's going to be doable or it will be too tiny to be noticed on wood. The last keychain I made is of yoshi, so I made this sketch:

The sketch was then imported on a design software able to export as DXF. This is the most improtant part of the whole process, and the longest/tedious. We really need to take our time and make sure everything is perfect, otherwise we might end up wasting a lot of materials! For instance, the heart shaped boxes took us about 3 days to complete...

Once the DXF file is ready, we import the drawing on the laser software. Each machine should have his own propietary software that will then generate the needed G-code (the same G-code as in the 3D printing)

Then, we set up the machine to work with our wooden board and we start!

First, the kiss-cut

Then, the engraving

And last the cut!

Once the laser part is done, we finish the keychains by adding the chain and that's it!

If you are interested in giving this process a try but don't know what drawing you should do, I uploaded the file to make this exact keychain here:

It's free to download for personal use!

We built our shop with the intent of granting people the chance to gift something unique and special to their loved ones, their friends or even themselves, and each item is truly unique because all the wood we use have a different grain and, for our couple keychains, that grain matches both the pieces and those pieces only. Not to mention, we have always given the option to engrave almost every item with name, a date and sometimes a dedication too, so you can't get a more unique item without spending a fortune!

Lastly, we put a lot of effort and care in designing each item and we strive to ship out only the best product possible (we discard a lot of stuff that isn't perfect). That's how we got so many positive reviews on our store!

But what does any of this have to do with Amazon?

Well, two weeks ago a fellow etsy seller contacted us, linking these amazon product:

These are exactly our designs, and that store stole one more.

What's worst is that they are selling more stuff stolen not just from us but from other small artisans too!
Fortunately Amazon took down that listing, but the day after three more popped up and three more on another different Amazon seller, probabily with the same people behind it. This is likely going to be a long battle...

What really bothers us is that the keychain they stole, compared to ours, are extremely tiny, judging from the photo I see they even did a crappy job at tracing our foxes and are missing a lot of details (the dragons without a background are horrible), and on top of that their cheaply made keychains are almost at the same price of ours!

We also found out an interesting article on the internet: www.buzzfeednews.com/article/n…

Apparently this is an issue that has been plaguing Amazon as a platform for a long time, but I can confirm they are not making thing easier for small sellers to defend themselves

So, if are you looking to make a special gift for a special person and you are shopping on Amazon, can you be sure that the item yu are looking at isn't made stealing other people's work? Do you really want to gift a stolen thing to that person, expecially when that thing costs as much as the original?

Unless you are buying eletronics and such I suggest you to really think twice before purchasing anything on that website...
